At Triumph, we are driven to make the best motorcycles in the world. Building iconic motorcycles that celebrate our past whilst embracing the future - through bold design, original styling, purposeful engineering and a genuine passion for the ride.

Homologation, also known as Certification or Type Approval is the process of approving a motorcycle or component for sale in the 40 or more countries in which Triumph products are sold.  In some locations there are over 30 separate subjects that are regulated including lighting, tyres, braking performance, emissions and noise.  Emissions alone has up to 7 separate tests for compliance in the EU.

The placement will be based within the Design Department where your role will be similar to that of a permanent Homologation Engineer. The work will be real, interesting and relevant to your studies, helping to develop and test a broad range of skills drawn from the knowledge you have gained at University. The work is varied, challenging and interesting and will be truly rewarding for a person who thrives on a fast paced environment and building relationships that will deliver ongoing success.

The role will include many aspects of the Homologation function including the creation of large complex specification documents, advising design staff on the regulations they are designing motorcycles and components for, and involvement in testing of product against those regulations. Analysis of regulations and regulatory proposals will also be an essential part of the work.

Students aren’t taken on as extra resource, they are needed to fulfil the role of an engineer and will contribute to the homologation testing and approval for our motorcycles for sale in over 40 countries.
